The Redevelopment Commission is appealing to residents to become a voice for Highland’s tomorrow. Utilizing the valued input of those who participate, the commission will draft a plan to guide development for the next 20 years.
The goal: Chart a fresh course that benefits the community economically while taking into consideration quality of life, services and character.
“Essential to this plan is the full engagement of our residents,” Redevelopment Director Maria Becerra said. “Residents are encouraged to participate actively, share their ideas, concerns and aspirations for the town’s future.”
The first Input session in December will launch the year-long process.
“We will disseminate information through the town website, local businesses, the library and Lincoln Community Center,” she said. “We want the comprehensive plan to reflect the vision and values of our community as it offers guidance for planning and development.”
The Town of Highland invites the public to attend a workshop from 6-7:30 p.m. December 13 at Lincoln Community Center to discuss a vision for downtown Highland and the Kennedy Avenue corridor.
