Townwide Garage Sale Rescheduled for September 11-12

Due to the extensive storm damage throughout the Town of Highland and the ongoing cleanup and recovery efforts, we have made the decision to reschedule the Townwide Garage Sale originally scheduled for this weekend to September 11-12.

Crews, utility providers, emergency personnel, and other organizations continue to work throughout the community to clear debris, restore services, and assist with recovery efforts. Keeping our streets as clear and accessible as possible will allow them to safely and efficiently reach the areas where they are needed.

We understand that many of you have already spent time preparing for this weekend’s sale, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause. We greatly appreciate your understanding and flexibility as our community continues to recover.

New Townwide Garage Sale Dates: Friday, September 11 and Saturday, September 12

Your registration will automatically transfer to the new dates. If you are unable to participate on September 11-12, please email Alyce Van Drunen at [email protected] and she will remove your address from the garage sale list.

Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and understanding during this time.

Highland Storm Updates

As storm cleanup and recovery continues in the Town of Highland, here's what you need to know:

  • DEBRIS: Residents do not need to call Public Works to report branches or request pickup. Our crews are working throughout town and will get to each area as quickly as possible. Public Works is also asking that residents please remove vehicles from the roadways so their crews can safely and efficiently clean debris from the streets.
  • GARBAGE: Highland residents may bring garbage to Public Works at no charge, and trash pickup is set to resume its normal schedule this week. Areas with alley pickup where the alley isn't passable should reach out to Public Works so they can let Republic know to pick up street-side instead.
  • WATER: There is no boil order in place. Highland’s water remains safe to drink and use as normal.
  • DAMAGE REPORTING: We are asking everyone to please contact 211 and report any damage sustained, even if you are already handling cleanup or repairs yourself. Reporting damage is critical to assessing the overall impact of the storm and will help determine whether we meet required thresholds for federal assistance. Residents may call 211 during daytime hours and storm damage can be reported 24/7 by clicking here.
  • TARPS: An additional supply of tarps has arrived and is available at Highland Central Fire Station, 2901 Highway Ave. Please pick up behind the station. Highland residents only. Must show a driver’s license with a Highland address. Limit two tarps per household. First come, first served while supplies last. Please only take what you need so we can help as many Highland families as possible
