Meet our Highland Police Department administrators:
Asst. Chief Pat Vassar and Cmdr. John Banasiak have proudly served as police officers for a total of 133 years.
Police Chief Ralph Potesta was selected to head the department in February. The veteran Highland officer was hired in 1989 and has been Chief of Detectives for the last 14 years.
Asst. Police Chief Pat Vassar has been a police officer for 40 years. He holds a degree in Criminal Justice from Calumet College of St. Joseph. He is also a graduate of Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command.
Cmdr. John Banasiak has been a police officer for 32 years. He holds a degree in Criminal Justice from Vincennes University. He is also a graduate of Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command.

The process is simple. Fill out a form that lists a trusted contact. Individuals on the form should be able to respond quickly in emergency situations with a key to the residence.
