COMPREHENSIVE ANNUAL FINANCIAL REPORTS
Each year, the Clerk Treasurer’s office compiles a snapshot of the community that details trends as well as reports of its fiscal health. Known as the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, this decorated publication provides details and analysis that has led to cost savings through lower borrowing costs for the municipality.
The Town of Highland consistently achieves achievements of excellence for its financial reporting.
The award from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting for the town’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.
“I sincerely believe the CAFR offers a heightened standard of disclosure to the people of Highland,” Griffin said. “(It) can lower costs of capital acquisition by the unit, support grant applications and sometimes assist in lowering costs for insurance. I believe this work is evidence of our municipality’s transparency and professionalism.”
